Batista the "Mafioso" and Castro the "Pimp"
By Jose Reyes 8/10/04
It was on January 1st in 1959 when Castro drove the vicious
"Pit Bull" dictator Fulgencio Batista out of Cuba and officially became the leader of a very fragile and
confused people.
He stood up on that podium and spoke to the citizens letting
them hear all the words they wanted to hear, how Cuba was going to have
elections again and how he was going to clean up all the corruption and injustices
in Cuba created by Batista. Now we are in the year 2004 and everything is in
complete turmoil, exactly the same as when he took power. There is so much
poverty and no sign of progression and the citizens of Cuba are in worse shape
then they were when Batista reigned. This is just another example of how
important and how necessary it is to have an organized and fair election. Cuba
would be a free society now if these two selfish Dictators were never in
power.
Batista the "The Mafioso"
In 1933 Batista led a
group of military Sergeants in a coup known as the "Revolt of the Seargents"
and took control of Cuba.
He then proceeded to expel one of Cuba's best known
President, Geraldo Machado and the electoral process of democracy was
terminated. Batista placed puppet presidents, a total of four, until 1940,
meanwhile controlling everything from his position, chief of the armed forces.
The Cuban people were disgusted with these provisional leaders and demanded
change. A legitimate constitution was written so there would be elections every
4 years like we have here in America. Batista won the elections fair and
square but within 1 year the Cuban people wanted him out, as he created all
types of war taxes for construction of roads and highways,
meanwhile he was pocketing all of the money.
In 1944 he lost the elections and practically was thrown out of Cuba. Batista moved to his mansion in Daytona Beach, Florida. In 1948 he wasn't legible to run for president but was able to win a position in the Cuban Senate even though he was still living in Florida. He decided to run for president and was given permission by then president Grau San Martin, another favorite of the Cuban people. There were early indications that showed Batista was going to get crushed in the elections so he started to plot another coup, as he still had strong ties with the military. Batista forcibly took power over Cuba and eliminated the process of Democracy in 1952, when the 2nd coup took place, 4 months before the elections. Batista became big time partners with the Sicilian Mafia, especially with the notorious Meyer Lansky. There was a reason for Batista's long stay in the world famous Wardorf Astoria in New York in the late 40's, that's where he made the final plans with Lansky, concerning money distribution throughout all the casinos. He gave "The Mob" carte blanche to casino licenses and permission to run there operation in Cuba. Along with the casinos came all the bad influences like prostitution, drugs and corruption. Havana became the "Latin Las Vegas" and the hard working people of Cuba were stuck in the middle with no place to go. Batista's dictatorship was tough and totally corrupted as his special police, comprised of high ranking military personnel, roamed throughout the island, enforcing Batista's laws. In the early 50's, Havana was a major drug distribution port for Lucky Luciano's heroin ring, all the deals were made in the Penthouses of the Hotel National. Batista never had in mind to protect the Cuban people as he fled Cuba with his family and all his henchmen like rats when Castro entered Havana on December 31, 1958.
Castro the "Big Pimp of the Caribbean"
Since 1959 Castro has not achieved anything,
the people of Cuba are being held hostage to his unjustifiable grip of terror.
All the
promises he made to the Cuban people were just straight out lies. Castro
turned the Cuban people against themselves so he could take advantage of them
and control them. Castro also established friendly relationships with
Russia about a year after taking power. The Russians proceeded to place missile
launchers with armed missiles throughout the island and subjected the Cuban
people to total annihilation without their approval. Cuba came so close to total
destruction during the "The Cuban Missile Crisis"
(Read
More).
Russia stopped supporting Cuba when communism seized in the 80's and Castro
decided to take the same route that Batista took. He started an enormous champagne
in Europe, promoting tourism to Cuba. Spain entered the picture immediately and
started investing and building Hotels along Varadero Beach.
The
champagne was and still is very successful and Castro is generating "1.8
BILLION" dollars a year in tourism every year. The casinos are up and running, 24
hours a day along with prostitution and drugs. Castro's Cuba is just as corrupt
as Batista's Cuba, but with Fidel, the people are slaves and they don't profit
anything. Cocaine is flown to Cuba every year as evident when a shipment of 7.2
tons of cocaine were seized in Colombia from the cocaine cartel as it was headed
to Cuba (Great
Article) . There
is an increasing drug addiction rate in Cuba right now.
Castro is now being accused of promoting prostitution. Cuban "Jineteras",
Street hookers, have become the main tourist attraction in Cuba. There is male,
female, bisexual and homosexual prostitution in Cuba. The men and woman are
strictly slaves, they have 2 choices, prostitution or jail. The Castro
government is taking children away from there parents and making them prostitute
so they can generate money for the regime. Castro
is destroying all the human rights of the people. The people in Cuba are
desperate for change in Cuba and right away!
Conclusion:
Misrepresentation and deception are the reasons why the Cuban people in Cuba and throughout the world have many contradicting views concerning the Island's political past and present. Corruption and mistrust from 1932, when Batista forcibly took over with support of FDR to the present time, 2004, where we have a communist aided tyrant, Fidel Castro. The Cuban people are in need of a real election with real candidates. The process of Democracy is the only way to bring all the Cuban people around the world, united again, to establish a free Cuba.
So to all the super-ultra right wing Cubans and to all the extremely left-wing guerilleros out there, if we don't have a legitimate electoral process in Cuba and conduct ourselves like human beings, our children and our grandchildren will never be able to live in peace, dancing to our great music and laughing at our unique humor. We must force this senile maniac out of Cuba now and create a stable society. We can create a government where we can negotiate trade with the world but most important, we must develop our own industries, we have the resources and the ability to make Cuba strong again. Of course relationships with the US is very important but we would have to produce our own products and sell them to the rest of the world also.
Remember, the United States practically doesn't produce anything anymore, America is the biggest consumer of the world. We can have casinos but they would be placed on an isolated location of the island, like we have here, Las Vegas. With all the corruption and deceit the Cuban people have experienced and all the valuable lessons learned with these 2 criminals (Batista and Castro) we can create a sound, democratic government and get a fresh start on freedom. There will be freedom of press and of speech. The people could read and base there own opinions and judge for themselves. It's not going to be easy in the beginning because we have to dig up all the loyal Castro supporters on the island and bring them to justice. We will get them all, we know who they are. Castro must and will be gone soon!
