"Quarantine is the Key"

               I thought this was going to take just 3 updates, and now it's becoming a long project, but I will continue to update and follow up on it, until SARS is conquered. I found out about this SARS, one night (March 15, 2003) watching CNN on TV. I was just about to go to sleep and they were showing this story of a Doctor from Singapore who was deplaned in Frankfort, Germany. The report must have been about 40 seconds long. He was on his way back to Singapore and had attended a 3 day conference in New York City. I stayed awake and started investigating the story on the internet. I said to myself "how can this doctor be so irresponsible". I was upset, and wrote a story about this "Come Mierda" (Read 1st Article). I started investigating and discovered all different estupideces concerning the way it was handled, right from the beginning. From this initial research, I concluded, some kind of cover-up was taking place. This SARS was infecting people already from November 2002 and the rest of the world was not aware of it. I decided to write periodical updates about SARS for everyone to satisfy my curiosity and to learn more about this mysterious pneumonia. 

              As of Saturday April 26, there are 4,836 cases of SARS worldwide, with 293 deaths, according to WHO (World Health Organization). Most of the infected are in China, where the numbers increase daily. There have been 2,914 cases, with 131 deaths in Mainland China alone. The city of Beijing is setting aside a 98- acre area for quarantine use only. The government there is closing theaters, Karaoke Bars, Internet Cafes, Public Libraries, and suspended marriage certificates due to the scare of large wedding parties. The National People's Congress ousted the Health Minister and replaced him with Vice Premier Wu Yi. She replaced Zhang Wenkang, who failed to move aggressively when SARS started. The Mayor, Meng Xuenong was appropriately kicked out of office for his Comemierdura, in alerting the public of this dangerous pneumonia. The Chinese government will be spending $420 Million to establish a nationwide health alertness to battle SARS. Vietnam acted swiftly and now are in total control, not to mention, Vietnam was the 2nd country to be affected by SARS.

               Canada is having many problems and I feel they took this SARS too lightly also. Canada has staggering numbers, for its geographical separation to China, the main source of SARS. As of Friday April 25, Health Canada was reporting 341 cases and 18 deaths. Health workers are getting infected, even though they wear face masks, goggles, double-thickness gloves and double-thickness gowns, just another reminder of  how powerful this deadly pneumonia is. Ontario has been traced as the source of SARS cases in the United States, Australia, and the Philippines.
