"It's Over for Now"

Overall the project was a success. We had world wide attention for a couple of months and that was our goal. We are on the search engines and we will continue to be heard. Thank you all for passing by every now and then and I'm off to the next project, read all about it  Here . Exteriores se reunirá el martes en Madrid con disidentes Cubanos

EFE- El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores ha convocado a una reunión para el próximo martes, día 19, a diversos grupos de disidentes cubanos afincados en Madrid. El objetivo es informarles sobre la política de diálogo que el Gobierno está llevando a cabo con el régimen castrista. La reunión está convocada en la sede del ministerio y a ella han confirmado ya su asistencia algunos grupos opositores, como la Plataforma Cuba Democracia Ya, el Movimiento Cristiano de Liberación y la Unión Liberal. Otras organizaciones de exiliados, como la Asociación Cubana Española o la Asociación Española Cuba en Transición, afirmaron que no habían recibido ninguna invitación. Lea el Resto

Narciso López

      This is a very interesting man that was totally mad but had many people backing him up here in America in 1850. Read about this man and you can easily compare it with the Spanish government's mentality and their intentions behind their alliance with Cuba now.

From The History of Cuba:

Narciso López was a Venezuelan born Spanish general who led several filibustering expeditions into Cuba with the goal of liberating the island from Spain and preserving slavery.

Most of López' support came from the U.S. south, as were most of the paid soldiers who signed up with his expeditions, and it is widely believed that his main goal was the annexation of Cuba to the U.S.

The first of various filibustering expeditions took place in September 1849 and ended in failure. Less than a year later another expedition with paid soldiers from Kentucky and Louisiana took control of the town of Cárdenas, but Spanish forces defeated this effort on May 19, 1850. Read the Rest
